BREAKING: Clyde Edwards-Helaire Hurt at Practice

Sources close to The Bluebloods have reported that Clyde Edwards-Helaire (RB, LSU) was injured at a team practice on Tuesday, December 17. The reported injury was hamstring related.Nothing has been confirmed, but sources say he was seen on campus in Baton Rouge on crutches. There is no update on his status for the Peach Bowl on December 28. Updates to follow.

*UPDATE*

Ross Dellenger of Sports Illustrated confirms the hamstring injury to Clyde Edwards-Helaire. The severity is still unknown. A press conference is set to be held at 5:30pm CST for Coach Orgeron to address the circumstances. More updates to follow.

Sources have reported that this hamstring injury was not contact-induced.

Sources say that Edwards-Helaire went in for MRI today. The results came back clean with no tears to his hamstring. Edwards-Helaire will more than likely sit out of the Peach Bowl vs. Oklahoma on December 28. LSU is hopeful that will return for the National Championship game on January 13 if the Tigers defeat Oklahoma in the National Semi-Final game.

Coach Orgeron spoke with media after practice today. He stated that he did not know the extent of the injury, but that we will receive more updates toward the end of the week. Updates to follow.
